Reference: Alignments

All players begin the game at a neutral alignment. Making good, evil, or selfish decisions during scenarios and other critical situations will gradually affect your alignment, pulling it towards good or evil. If you make a decision that is in character with your present alignment, you will be given a small experience bonus for acting properly in character (good roleplaying).

The Alignment Scale:

+5 - Angelic
+4 - Heroic
+3 - Noble
+2 - Good
+1 - Nice
0 - Impressionable
-1 - Mean
-2 - Evil
-3 - Cruel
-4 - Vicious
-5 - Diabolic

Trying to change your alignment is entirely optional -- if you want you can choose actions that are typically selfish during scenarios and your alignment will stay near 0. You will even gain experience for acting in character!

If you want to play a good or evil character, make your decisions accordingly. Or, you can ignore the alignment system completely and your alignment will float to match the type of decisions you make. It's really up to you.
